About Me

A grant and award-winning producer, director, master choreographer, and educator, Dustin Stephan has performed and lectured all over the world.  A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University & Indiana University; Dustin earned his Bachelor of Science in Dance from the Department of Kinesiology in 2007. He recently graduated from Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center with a Master’s Degree in Entertainment Technology and a concentration in Themed Entertainment in May of 2019.

 

Dustin learned clogging from National Hee Haw champion Jon Hasler and performed and choregraphed for the legendary ‘The Clogging Sensation’ under the direction of Stan Webb.  He has also learned, taught, and danced alongside some of the best in the clogging industry including: Jeff Driggs, Missy Shinoski, Sherry Glass Cox, and Naomi Fleetwood Pyle, to name just a few.

 

He has performed at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN and was a performer with Walt Disney World Entertainment from 2008 – 2012; cast in many different parades, shows, special events and tapings.  Videos of his work have gone “viral” with views on YouTube and Facebook well over 120 Million.

 

An inductee of the All-Star Clogging Hall of Fame, Dustin has served on the Board of Directors for the National Clogging Organization Since 2012.  In 2019 he was voted as the next Chairman of the Board.  He founded the Indiana Dance Conservatory in 2010 providing the Artistic Direction until 2015, winning 20 National Championship and 56 Overall titles while directing performances across the country.

 

Dustin worked at Indiana University from 2010 – 2015 as an Adjunct Lecturer for both the Department of Theatre, Drama and Contemporary Dance and the Department of Kinesiology.  Instructing over 1,000 students during his tenure there; courses taught include: Hip Hop Dance, Contemporary / Modern Dance, Ballroom and Social Dance, Irish Dance and Teaching of Dance Activities.

 

From 2015- 2017, Dustin was the Dance Captain aboard the Showboat Branson Belle in Branson, Missouri with the all-male percussive dance group RHYTHM.  Averaging over 400 shows a season, he was responsible for maintaining consistent show quality of a cast of nine.  He also wrote and produced seasonal content for a new show offering.

 

He was the guest presenter at the ECTA conference in Germany June 2016, lecturing on his unique technique to dance educators from across Europe.

 

Currently, Dustin is a serving on the North American Eastern Division Themed Entertainment Association Board of Directors.  He enjoys developing interactive storytelling experiences across all mediums from Virtual Reality to location based entertainment & animatronic shows.  He is looking for opportunities to share his love of performance mixed with technological innovation.

 

Dustin has toured the Dance & Clogging Circuit as a National Instructor, Competition Director and Adjudicator, presenting his innovative technique and curriculum, for many years. From New York to California, and Internationally; Dustin has mentored thousands of students and participants.

 

Dustin is known for his clear, concise teaching method, his ability to connect with students and his adaptability to any teaching situation and audience. His choreography ranges from beginners from scratch to highly advanced / challenge material.
